Executive Summary
Sarah’s Circle works with women experiencing homelessness from all over the city of Chicago. We were founded in 1979 and are an established nonprofit in the area. With 45 years of experience, we have a proven history of successfully expanding our capacity and the strength of our services can be seen in our track record of success.
The overarching goal of Sarah’s Circle is ending homelessness for women. Through our immediate services – including our Daytime Support Center and Interim Housing Program – we provide our women with all their basic needs. This includes on-site mental health services, referrals to partners such as health providers, Legal Aid, and employment readiness programs, etc. All our programs, including our Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Rehousing, offer case management. Through case management, women set goals and action plans. Our Daytime Support Center is a drop in center for women experiencing homelessness; our Interim Housing Program is a 50-bed shelter open 24/7 365 days a year; our Permanent Supportive Housing provides 73 fully furnished apartments for women where they can live for the rest of their lives; and our Rapid Rehousing Program connects women who have recently fallen into homelessness with a case manager and temporary housing.
