Executive Summary
Dallas Afterschool's theory of change is that high-quality out-of-school-time programs improve academic and life outcomes for students. For 17 years, we have provided systems level supports to a network of over 250 afterschool and summer programs that allow us to reach nearly 20,000 students in Dallas County, Texas. We offer quality and safety assessments for programs, one-on-one coaching and career development for educators, and academic and enrichment resources for students.
When viewed together, our services allow us to take a holistic approach to the systemic challenges facing the out-of-school-time sector. By increasing access, improving quality, and developing the workforce, we can close the opportunity gap for students who rely on these programs to thrive socially and academically, while giving parents the peace of mind they need to thrive in the workforce.
